NEDWeb is a web-based
directory registration and update service for NED. It is comprised
of two major components:
AO/AT interface
public search/self-service update
AO/AT Interface
The AO/AT interface
provides a mechanism for the collection and maintenance of NED data by Administrative Officers (AOs) and Administrative Technicians
(ATs). This includes adding
or “registering” new people in NED, updating existing records,
authorizing NIH services (e.g., ID badges, NIH Library privileges, Active
Directory accounts and Exchange mailboxes), and deactivating records when people leave
the NIH. The AO/AT interface is also used for performing
administrative functions, transferring people between ICs, and creating
reports. ATs can enter data, but must submit changes to AOs for
approval before NED is updated. Users must be authorized to use the
AO/AT interface.
