The meeting included a fifth demonstration of the Fast Track Directory user web interface. Prior to the demo, there was a discussion on the subject of exchange scientists (ES) and professional services contractors (PS) in Fogarty. It had been our intent to classify these types of workers as "Guests." However, in our conversations with folks from Fogarty we learned that they didn't feel comfortable with this. Therefore, it was suggested that a list of individuals working at NIH as ESs or PSs (there are currently fewer than 80) be provided to AOs so they can determine the appropriate classification.
There was a discussion of the "GS Series Code" field with a recommendation that it be changed to "Occupation" and made read only with data being pulled in from HRDB.
It was agreed that the "End Date" attribute, which had previously been removed from the interface, be brought back. In addition, for scheduled updates an advance email notification should be sent to AOs reminding them of the impending changes. In cases where a number of future changes, including an "End Date" are scheduled through the interface, the "End Date" should be written to the directory immediately upon AO approval, while the other changes would be scheduled for the future date. Also, a way is needed to review or cancel updates that have been approved, but are still pending.
