Notes
Release Date: 3/19/01
The following enhancements and new features have been incorporated
into the version 1.5 release:
Register
- Pending
registration requests and approved scheduled registrations are searched to
prevent duplicate records for the same person.
- SSNs
between 800-900 (except for 818, which is used in assigning temporary SSNs
to fellows) are prohibited.
- The
Services tab contains a fully functional ID Badge option to authorize an
ID badge. (Note: FTEs, Fellows, and summer workers are
authorized by default.)
- The
Services tab contains a fully functional “List in paper directory” option
for identifying individuals that should be listed in the NIH Telephone and
Services Directory. (Note: FTEs and Fellows are listed by
default.)
- Ability
to toggle to the Services tab from the Personal, Work, and Home
information tabs.
- Support
for 104 pager numbers.
- Mail
stop codes are validated to only accept values consisting of 4 numeric
characters.
- Clicking the “Continue” button
on the Personal Information form takes a user directly to the Work
information form if any required fields are missing.
- Middle names are validated to
accept only letters, dashes, and single quotes.
- NTE
Date has been added to the Work Information form.
- Last
name is validated to be at least two characters.
- Ability
to use the enter key instead of clicking “Continue” with a mouse to
continue.
- City
of birth can no longer be edited on the Personal Information page if used
during a registration search.
- If a
registration search returns a highly probable match, a user is unable to
create a new entry (they must re-register the match).
Update
- SSNs

- Search results now include
“Other Name” matches.
- A
“Processing…Please Wait” message is displayed during searches.
- ID
badge photos will be displayed (upon cutover to the new ID badge/card key
system).
Change Status - Transfer
- A
gaining IC must be designated when transferring an individual out of their
current IC.
Change Status -
Deactivate
- Deactivating
a person revokes a previously issued ID badge.
- Users
are prompted if they’re sure they want to deactivate a person.
Change Status – Activate
- The

Review Requests
- Approved
scheduled actions can now be modified.
- Ability
to approve multiple requests simultaneously using an “Approve All” button.
- ATs
are able to view, modify, or delete pending requests, or reassign them to
another AOs.
Search (View Only)
- Ability
to search by worker classification.
- Searches
ignore leading and trailing spaces.
- Suffix is displayed on the
Personal Information form.
- Search
results now include “Other Name” matches.
- A
“Processing…Please Wait” message is displayed during searches.
- Corrected
a bug that displayed names under both “Exact Matches” and “Probable
Matches” categories when a large number of matches were returned (e.g.,
when searching on last name “Smith”).
Administration/Reports
- All
reports are accessible by clicking the Main Menu “Reports” option and then
selecting from a drop down list.
- Viewable
NIC list with the ability to reassign NIC responsibility to another
person.
- Ability
to view all pending requests for an IC.
- Custom
user-defined reports.
- The
Change Log option is now available to ATs.
- When creating a new AO or AT, a
message is displayed if an attempt is made to set up a person who is
already an AO or AT (e.g., “John Doe is already an AO, do I want to modify
their coverage?).
- Ability
to select subordinate SACs when generating a SAC Coverage report.
Miscellaneous
- Feedback
link is integrated with the CIT customer support center (TASC).
- A
hyperlink to the NED sign in screen has been added to email sent to AOs
informing them of a submitted request by an AT.
- Gaining
IC NICs receive email when a person’s directory status is changed to
transferring.
