Systems and applications can access NED data via the NED Oracle database or via services developed by the NIH Integration Services Center (ISC). Available NED data includes non-sensitive, public information as well as sensitive data covered under the NED system of records notice (SORN).
The NIH Privacy Office approves access to the latter.
Web Service Access
The NIH Integration Service Center (ISC)
has implemented several web and JMS services that are available to systems and applications wishing to receive NED data in this manner. Information regarding these services is available on the
ISC web site under "Manage Human Capital," or you may contact the ISC directly at
NIHISCSupport@mail.nih.gov .
To request system or application access to sensitive data covered under the NED System of Records Notice (SORN) via an ISC web service, submit a NED Sensitive Data Request Form.
Oracle Access
To request system or application access to data via the NED Oracle database, submit a Request Form for Oracle Access to NED Data. Following creation of an Oracle user account by NED staff, your system or application will have read-only access to the following Oracle views:
NED_PERSON
NED_ORGUNIT
NED_BUILDINGS
NED_LABELED_URI
Access to the
NED_ROLES view is also
available upon request.
